The curriculum in this course is designed to enhance the fire investigators ability to detect and determine the origin and cause of a fire. Specific topics include fire behavior, investigator ethics, fire pattern recognition, scene re-construction, and ignition sources associated with construction. Other areas covered include woodland fires, electrical fires, vehicle fires, RV fires, and marine vessel fires; special emphasis on scene documentation, preservation, and extinguishing/alert systems.
